Sometimes you have a shoot that is pure magic. This was the case with Brianna and Richard’s engagement session last month. Their love for one another was radiating throughout the session, and that combined with a beautiful natural background and that golden hour glow was simply amazing.
I spent the afternoon with Brianna and Richard on an adjacent property to the studio, which provided the perfect backdrop for the session. We had just enough wind to keep the trees (and Brianna’s dress) flowing while taking in the last of the sun that day. Speaking of dress, this pale pink choice was absolutely stunning against the greens of the property. Brianna provided her own dress for the occasion, but we keep our studio closet packed with unique options we know would complement our preferred locations and suit any style.
I like to think that I can make any couple feel comfortable during their engagement session – but these two made it easy for me. They were all smiles and laughs and you could feel the excitement between them for their upcoming nuptials (which I happened to shoot as well – stay tuned for those)!
I prefer to capture those organic moments of pure joy and affection rather than an endless series of poses. In my photography, I want to fully convey each individual personality and it’s even better when those couple dynamics come through during a shoot.
This approach gets us unique images each and every time. These are moments you want to remember for years to come, and it is an absolute pleasure for me to play even a small part in making that happen.
Some of my favorite moments as a photographer are being invited back time and time again into my clients’ lives. I love being there for the engagement, wedding, and often later on – maternity photos and family portrait sessions. It’s those ongoing stories and witnessing multiple phases of your lives that continuously ignites my passion for photography.
I am honored every time a couple or family invites me into their lives whether just for a day or for many years. Just like all my clients, I look forward to following Brianna and Richard as they journey into married life together and truly thank them for including me in this chapter of their story.
